Who We Are
Ber-Lin Cockers is a small hobby show kennel located in southwestern Missouri. It was started in the 1980's by my mother, Bee (the "Ber" in Ber-Lin). As is typical for my mom, she decided to breed dogs and jumped into it with both feet! But she soon found she loved this wonderful breed above all others, and started breeding and showing them exclusively, under the "Lucky B" prefix. I had spent my younger days showing horses, and have always had dogs in my life as well, so it was not surprising that I soon got caught up in the lifestyle!
In the 1990's my mom decided to focus on other things, and let me carry on. I started from there with one girl, Ber-Lin's This Diamond Sparkles, "Reba." Reba gave me a wonderful start and all of my breeding descends from her.
We breed only occassionally, about 1 litter a year or so. I show the dogs in conformation and with every litter my goal is to produce happy, healthy and beautiful cocker spaniels. All breeding stock is health tested (OFA and eye exams) before breeding. I love this breed - they are a wonderful size and full of life. I call them 'dogs with a sense of humor.' Cocker Spaniels truly are sporting dogs and have retained the athleticism associated with their hunting roots. I hope every litter reflects my commitment to preserving the unique qualities that make cocker spaniels special.
My mom continues to co-own the cockers with me and has also gone on to breed and show Papillons. I am a proud member of the American Spaniel Club, as well as the Cocker Spaniel Club of Tulsa.
